December Message from the President

Our PGA Show planning is firming up. MR3 Golf Designs has recently become an ICG sponsor and will be joining us and other sponsors at the Demo Day and in our Meeting Room W209B.

The schedule will include four panel discussions: “Tales from the Tour”, “Launch Monitor Case Studies”, “Setting up a Viable Business”, and “Fitting versus Teaching”. Wednesday afternoon and evening will have our Hall of Fame 2017 Class induction and the 2017 Clubmaker of the Year (COY) awards.

As always, there’ll be a value rich PGA Show Special. Stop by our room to sign up for it. Can’t make the Show? You’ll be able to sign up for the Special online at our web site.

Why join the Guild or renew your membership?

We offer professional development and marketing opportunities via our Resource Library (100+ articles including tens of hours of videos), 4000+ Forum Posts, Monthly Webinar Series, Regional Chapter Meetings, Certifications, Google Maps marketing, Sponsor Specials, GolfMDs and Proponent Group relationships, professional PR contractor working to promote us, and a whole lot more.

We’re constantly looking for new ways to invest in our Mission and our membership. The Board of Directors recently approved moving our video hosting to Vimeo Business. The quality of our videos and our branding will increase significantly. Storage will enable us to host video for our certified members without advertising nor the distraction of your customers seeing YouTube recommended videos. In addition to moving to Vimeo hosting, all recorded webinars and Resource Library Videos (including Regional Chapter workshops and COY videos) are being closed captioned to help our hard of hearing and non-English speaking members. The Board also approved the purchase of a professional level sound recording system to improve the quality of our recorded workshops.

Besides having the largest membership by far of any clubmaking organization, we have amazing members who are at the top of their craft and thriving. Golf Digest released their America Top 100 Clubfitters list on December 1st. Guess what? We have twelve of them! Congratulations to Mark Timms of Arizona, Paul Ferrone and Jacques Intriere of Connecticut, Matt Grabowy of Washington, D.C., Frank Viola of Massachusetts, Ken Collins of New Hampshire, Josh Chervokas of New York, Don Coyle of Illinois, Jim McCleery of Ohio, Mike Morrison of Pennsylvania, Tom Spargo of Rohdie Island, and Mark Vallier of Texas.

Of course, we have great clubmakers all over the world, and in order to promote them we’ll soon be announcing our ICG Top Member List.

Come join us in our corporate mission and help us raise our craft and promote it and our membership to the golfing public. The sky's the limit as to where our collective energy and creativity can take us.

We are the ICG,

Jacques Intriere

ICG President
