International Clubmakers Guild® to Hold Great Lakes Chapter Meeting – Open to the Golf Industry – in Michigan

GREENWICH, Connecticut (September 7, 2016) – International Clubmakers Guild® (ICG) (www.clubfittersguild.org), golf’s only clubfitting and clubmaking organization that is owned and run by its members, will hold its 2016 Great Lakes Chapter Fall Conference and Golf Outing Sept. 25 at Golfers Advantage, in Fenton, Mich.

“The Great Lakes Chapter is planning an outstanding conference, and we invite clubfitters from the entire Great Lakes region to attend,” said Jacques Intriere, president of International Clubmakers Guild. “ICG members with over 100 years of combined experience will be present to share ideas and answer questions.”

The Great Lakes ICG group has been meeting for over 20 years, according to Intriere, and – along with the Spain Chapter – serves as the model for all future ICG Chapters.

ICG members Greg Cournay, president of the Great Lakes Chapter, and Gary Cottrell are organizing the event, which is open to ICG members as well as to non-members. It is requested that participants be involved in the golf industry in some capacity, although it is not required that they be engaged in clubfitting or clubmaking as a full-time enterprise. ICG members will receive Continuing Professional Education points for attending.

The day will begin with continental breakfast, followed by presentations. Ray Tomaszewski, treasurer of the ICG, will report on his experience attending this year’s ICG European Chapter meeting, held Sept. 9-11 in St Andrews, Scotland. Following his report, a single-length iron comparison will be conducted, during which some ICG members will compare distance and dispersion between their irons and the single length irons. Next, ICG member Roy Kaltz will demonstrate a new device he designed which offers a new, more productive way to orient golf shafts during the production cycle of the golf club. Kaltz will show how this device can be used to save clubfitters time and to build better golf clubs. A question-and-answer period also has been scheduled as part of the day’s agenda. Attendees are encouraged to bring questions and problems, which will be answered during the session. Also, ICG member Bob Uebelhor will conduct a presentation, the topic of which has not yet been announced. Following an Italian-style hot lunch, optional golf is scheduled at The Majestic at Lake Walden, in Hartland, Mich.

In fact, the winner of the 2016 Ricoh British Open, played July 28-31 at Woburn Golf and Country Club, in Milton Keynes, England, had her clubs and shafts fit by one ICG member and her clubs built by another ICG member.

International Clubmakers Guild® to Hold Florida Chapter Meeting – Open to the Golf Industry – in Daytona Beach, FL. 
 
 
GREENWICH, Connecticut (September 3, 2016) – International Clubmakers Guild® (ICG) (www.clubfittersguild.org), golf’s only clubfitting and clubmaking organization that is owned and run by its members, will hold its second annual Florida Chapter meeting Sept. 18-19 at LPGA International, in Daytona Beach, Fla. 
 
“The Florida Chapter is vibrant and growing,” said Jacques Intriere, president of International Clubmakers Guild. “Clubfitters from all parts of the state will gather for this meeting, which will offer a full schedule of presentations and educational workshops.”
 
ICG members Jerry Howard, president of the Florida ICG Chapter and the 2015 ICG Southeast Clubmaker of the Year, and Bill Marshall, vice president, are organizing the event, which is open to ICG members as well as to non-members. It is requested that participants be involved in the golf industry in some capacity, although it is not required that they be engaged in clubfitting or clubmaking as a full-time enterprise. ICG members will receive Continuing Professional Education points for attending. 
 
In addition to business and dinner meetings, the agenda will include sessions on: swing science, products and fitting systems; single length clubs; MOI/MBI usage; status of the golf industry; marketing, social media and websites; and shaft technology. LPGA instructor Diane Garron will offer some commentary. Optional golf also is part of the program.

International Clubmakers Guild® to Hold European Chapter Meeting – Open to the Golf Industry – in St Andrews, Scotland

GREENWICH, Connecticut (August 24, 2016) – International Clubmakers Guild® (ICG)  (www.clubfittersguild.org), golf’s only clubfitting and clubmaking organization that is owned and run by its members, will hold its second annual European Chapter meeting Sept. 9-11 in St Andrews, Scotland. The event is open to all ICG members, as well as to non-members, from the U.S. and all over the world, and is limited to 100 attendees. It is requested that participants be involved in the golf industry in some capacity, although it is not required that they be engaged in clubfitting or clubmaking as a full-time enterprise.

“This will be a special venue for this year’s European Chapter meetings, seminars, networking and certification workshops,” said Jacques Intriere, president of International Clubmakers Guild (ICG). “Last year’s European Chapter meeting, in Majorca, Spain, was a great success, and we believe this year’s gathering will be even more of a draw.“We look forward to welcoming everyone, including sponsors, presenters, members and non-members. We are proud of the extensive and valuable continuing-education aspect of ICG.”

All presentations will be conducted in English, with closed captioning. The meeting agendas will feature technical discussions and sponsor presentations. The schedule is as follows: Friday, September 9 – optional golf, then an open dinner meeting;  Saturday, September 10 – a full day of meetings, including coffees, lunch and dinner; and Sunday, September 11 – concluding meetings in the morning, followed by optional golf that afternoon. 

The ICG will extend a “Guild Special” to non-members who attend the 2016 European Chapter meeting, consisting of a discounted fee to join the Guild and to enroll in certification sessions.
